Flyleaf is an American hard rock band, formed in the Belton[1] and Temple, Texas[2] regions in 2000. The band has charted on mainstream rock, Christian pop and Christian metal genres. They performed around the United States in 2003 until releasing their eponymous debut album, Flyleaf, in 2005. The album went platinum after selling more than one million copies.[5] The band won an online poll on yahoo.com and was named Yahoo!'s Who's Next band of the month in March 2006 and they were named MTV's artist of the week on December 24, 2007.[6][7] Flyleaf released their second album Memento Mori on November 10, 2009 which debuted and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard charts.
"Fully Alive" is a song by American band Flyleaf. On November 2006, It was released as the second single from their debut album Flyleaf (2005). It is the third song of the band to have a music video which features the radio-edit instead of the album version.
In an interview with Radiou.com, lead singer Lacey Mosley said this is about Layla Palmer, the wife of Kevin Palmer (lead vocalist of Amity Lane, formerly of Trust Company). Said Mosley: "She's an awesome person, and you would never guess in a million years that she has the struggle that she has. Kinda changed my perspective about the way that I complain about things, the way that I wake up sad for no reason, and then she wakes up just glad to wake up.
This song is about Trust Company vocalist Kevin Palmer's wife, Layla. Flyleaf went on tour with trust company a while back at a time when layla was really sick, and those times when she could get out of bed she was always smiling, she always seemed happy about the little things most people take for granted every day. Lacey and Pat said they really inspired her.
