Friendships are a strange odd lot
In different shapes and sizes
Just when you get them figured out
They're still full of surprises
There're those you couldn't live without
who put your mind at ease and
Of course there are the other kind
The kind there is no pleasin'
With ego's bigger than their minds!
Self-centered's what they're all about
We choose to keep the nicer kind
And clean the others out
All in all we're never sure
How well we really know em'
Sometimes it sure don't take too much
To feel an ill-wind blowin
Sometimes the battle rages
On jealousy and rival
To live on some streets you must be
An expert on survival
So much more common are the lanes
Of peace and harmony
Where neighbor helps his neighbor
In loving tranquillity
It seems it's true in cyberspace
Most folks are just the same
With unseen but cherished faces
And funny little names.
