THIS SONG FROM SLIGHTLY STOOPID IS CALLED "TOP OF THE WORLD" AND IS A SONG I LOVE AND SO WILL YOU.........

  Group & Song Facts:

Slightly Stoopid is an American band based in Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, who describe their music as "a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk." As a band, they have released eight albums (two live) with their seventh studio album entitled "Top of the World" on August 14, 2012. The band was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label Skunk Records while still in high school.

The group is noted for their eclectic mix of rock, reggae, blues, hip-hop, metal and funk in their works. When the group first started out, they drew numerous influences from the likes of punk rock groups such as Sublime, Operation Ivy, Rancid, and Streetwise[disambiguation needed]. Slightly Stoopid's self-titled album was released months after Brad Nowell's death in 1996 under Skunk Records. Their reggae influences stem from artists such as Yellowman, Don Carlos and Buju Banton.[5]

The band's seventh studio album, "Top of the World," was released on August 14, 2012.[3] The seven-piece band continues to explore a variety of styles on "Top of the World," with help from some of their biggest influences and heroes including: reggae legends Barrington Levy and Don Carlos of Black Uhuru; “unofficial 8th member” Karl Denson of Greyboy Allstars; longtime band friend and touring partner G. Love; Fishbone frontman Angelo Moore; ex-Jurassic Five emcee extraordinaire Chali 2na; Dumpstaphunk’s Ian Neville; and hit-making singer/songwriter Angela Hunte. The album entered the Billboard 200 at a career high No. 13 as well as on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart at No. 3. "Top of the World" also debuted on Billboard’s Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts with a final position of No. 4. Following the album release, the band performed on the “Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ” (www.kroq.com/soundspace and www.redbullusa.com/soundspace) on August 23, followed by appearances on tastemaker indie music website Daytrotter and SiriusXM. The group also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on September 12 to play their current single, “Top of the World.” [4]

So when the music's stoppin,
There's no more knockin’, or kickin’ down my door
Ain't no need for changin’, or rearranging
This life we have endured
All these foolish ways, with these hopeless strays
Keep you comin’ back for more
By the time you hear it, it's over, it's over

I really must have lost my mind
Wasn't me who wasn't hard to find
Six strings on my back always lookin’ for the next track
Thinking bout the old hood always up to no good
When you gonna realize,
That we livin like we hypnotized
By the sound that you hear when the music's over
Times runnin out can't you see it's for ya

When you're down and out
Nobody opens their mouth
No-one ever come around your way
When you're on top of the world
Every man and every girl
Wanna come and get some shit for free
When you're sittin on the corner
No one ever gonna pay you any mind that day
You’re just sittin’ outside gettin’ colder

It was not long ago when you wasn't that old now look at you are old and gray
Like a piece of your mind that was stolen in time never listen what nobody say
The reason everyday is not a holiday
Is ‘cause the government they steal your pay
Was a dream, but it's already over

Won't someone get us out of here
I'm alive but I can't feel
Can not tell what's reality
Can not tell what is and what isn't real

Save me from this prison
Lord help me get away
Cause only you can save me now
From this misery
Cause I've been lost in my own place
And I'm getting' weary
How far is heaven
And I know I need to change
My ways of livin'
How far is heaven, Lord can you tell me

Cause I've been locked up way too long
In this crazy world, how far is heaven
I just keep on prayin' Lord
Just keep on livin', how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just got to know how far, how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me

Tu que estas en alto cielo,
Echame tu bendiciòn
[translated from Spanish]
[You that's in a higher place
Send me down a blessing]

Cause I know there's a better place
Than this place I'm livin', how far is heaven
So I just got to show some faith
And just keep on giving, how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just wanna know how far, how far is heaven,
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven,
'cause I just gotta know how far,
I just wanna know far

♥ ★ ☆ ♥ I CAME TO PARTY ♥ ☆ ★ ♥

GOOD DAY EVERYBODY...ALWAYS BRINGING YOU THE BEST NEW ROCK MUSIC VIDEOS AVAILABLE TO YOU, RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW ON YOUR FAVORITE GAME SITE, GAME DESIRE.....

THIS SONG FROM DEUCE IS CALLED "I CAME TO PARTY" AND IS A SONG I LOVE AND SO WILL YOU........

Singer & Song Facts:

Deuce Aron Erlichman (born March 2, 1983), better known by his stage name Deuce formerly known as "Tha Producer", is an American music producer, singer-songwriter, and rapper. Brought to fame as producer, singer/songwriter, and one of the founding members of rap rock band Hollywood Undead, Deuce has since moved on to solo work through the label "Five Seven Music", a branch of Eleven Seven Music.[1] He is also involved in a movement with fellow rapper The Truth (Vardan Aslanyan) called "Nine Lives" (often stylized as both "9LIVES" and "IX LIVES"). Deuce released his debut album of the same name on April 24, 2012, which sold 11,425 copies in its first week.[2] Deuce has also collaborated with artists BrokeNCYDE and Blood on the Dance Floor for their upcoming albums.[3]

Deuce co-founded the band Hollywood Undead as a vocalist and producer with close friend Jorel Decker (J-Dog). The band began their musical career with the creation of the rap-rock song "The Kids" which was greatly promoted by Jeffree Star. Deuce initially adopted and recorded songs with the band under the pseudonym "Tha Producer" due to his role in production but shortened this pseudonym to "Deuce" not long after.[4][5] At the time of Deuce's departure, Hollywood Undead had gained success with Swan Songs, which peaked at number 22 on the Billboard 200 in its first week.[6] A few EPs were released, the Swan Songs B-Sides EP and the Swan Songs Rarities EP in 2009 and 2010, respectively. In 2009, Hollywood Undead released their first live album, Desperate Measures, which peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200.[7]
In late 2009, the band fired Deuce for allegedly causing the band several problems. Hollywood Undead member Charlie Scene (Jordon Terrel) claimed in an interview with World Famous Rock that Deuce did not show up on tour after the band refused to continue paying over $800 a week to bring along his unnamed "personal assistant", whom they apparently paid for nearly 4 months. The band also explained that it was a struggle having Deuce in the group. In an interview with Bryan Stars, Da Kurlzz (Matthew St. Claire) stated, "It was so bad, that I don't think there would've been another record if he was still with us. We bent over backwards to accommodate Deuce". Deuce later responded to this in his own interview with Bryan Stars claiming that the personal assistant Charlie Scene spoke of was in fact Jimmy Yuma. Jimmy Yuma said that he was paid by Deuce out of his own pocket to set up equipment for him, and that the band didn't have to pay anything until he began setting up their equipment on tour also. Deuce also mentioned in the same interview that he did not show up to the tour in question because he had received a phone call from the manager previously who claimed the band had "broken up" and was told not to go on tour.[8]
During an interview with JackedUp Radio, Deuce states that one of the disputes he had with Hollywood Undead was over having a personal Twitter account, Deuce claims that when he began to connect with fans over Twitter he was told that "if you keep twittering, you're not going to be allowed to go on tour".[9]
Upon signing with A&M/Octone with Hollywood Undead in 2008, Deuce states that he was also signed as a solo-artist. He would release his first 4-track EP, The Two Thousand Eight EP, which contained songs "The One", "Gravestone", "Hollyhood Vacation" (Featuring Truth) and "Deuce Dot Com", all of which would 4 years later be remastered and released within his début album, the latter of the two being bonus tracks. The EP was released through iTunes and received little success. Shortly after Deuce was evicted from the band, the EP disappeared from iTunes. Deuce accused the label of breaching the original contract terms and would later sue the company under this accusation. Deuce discovered a loophole that revealed he was permitted to produce remixes/mixtape style songs using the instrumentals of other musicians, so long as he did not incur a profit.[10]

"I Came To Party", is a party themed song featuring successful east-coast rapper; Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. The song fuses dubstep, rock, rap and pop elements to create an upbeat and diverse dance-track.

♥ ★ ☆ ♥ ON A WEEKEND, I WANNA WISH IT ALL AWAY ♥ ☆ ★ ♥

GOOD DAY EVERYBODY...ALWAYS BRINGING YOU THE BEST NEW ROCK MUSIC VIDEOS AVAILABLE TO YOU, RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW ON YOUR FAVORITE GAME SITE, GAME DESIRE.....

THIS SONG FROM PEARL JAM IS CALLED "YELLOW LEDBETTER" AND IS A SONG I LOVE AND SO WILL YOU........

Song Facts:

There are two prominent theories regarding the title of this song:

1) The name "Yellow Ledbetter" derives from an old tongue twister in which you try to say "yellow better, red better" as fast as you can. Just a few times repeated, the words become jumbled and you get "yellow ledbetter." The reason they named the song this is because the lyrics are indistinguishable just like the tongue twister.

2) It's a tribute to Huddy Ledbetter (known as Leadbelly), who was one of the founding fathers of Blues in the 1930s, and recorded much of his music while in jail for assault. Leadbelly first recorded many classic tunes which have been covered by many bands, like "Land of the Rising Sun" and "Where Did You Sleep Last Night."

The real meaning, however, as stated in Five Against One: The Pearl Jam Story by Kim Neely, is that the title was a joke in honor of a Chicago friend of Eddie Vedder's named Tim Ledbetter. (thanks, Martin - Rostock, Germany)
Eddie Vedder admits that he changes the lyrics and meaning of the song when he performs it, but he wrote the song with one story in mind, which he told at a concert in Newark, New Jersey on August 7, 2008. He asked if anyone had any questions, and a fellow asked what the lyrics to "Yellow Ledbetter" were. Instead of going word for word, Eddie simply told the story of the song.

The song was written during the first gulf war, when "Papa Bush" was President, as Eddie calls him. The story is about a young Grunger kid, all dressed up in his flannels with the long greasy hair. His brother goes off to fight in the war and gets killed. He gets a letter that comes in one of those yellow army envelopes and learns of his brother's death. So, all upset, he decides to go out and walk it off. On his walk he passes by a neat, middle-aged or elderly couple sitting on their front porch having some tea, and he sees that they have an American flag out. He gives a wave, because he feels like he relates: "The flag, my brother, you know..." But they don't know, of course. They don't know what's underneath the grunge and the long hair. All they see are the outward appearances, and they don't wave back.
The song has changed its meaning over time and Eddie changes the words to suit whatever is on his mind. (thanks, Graham - Morrisville, PA)
The guitar part is a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, as it is much the same intro riff as his "Little Wing." (thanks, C - DC, DC, for above 3)
Pearl Jam often uses this to close their concerts. The houselights come on and the audience sings along.
This does not appear on any of Pearl Jam's studio albums; it was released as the B-side of the "Jeremy" single.
A live version is the B-side of Pearl Jam's "Daughter" single.

Unsealed on a porch a letter sat.
Then you said, "I wanna leave it again."
Once I saw her on a beach of weathered sand.
And on the sand I wanna leave it again. Yeah.
On a weekend I wanna wish it all away, yeah.
And they called and I said that "I want what I said" and then I call out again.
And the reason oughta' leave her calm, I know.
I said "I know what I was the boxer or the bag."

Ah yeah, can you see them out on the porch? Yeah, but they don't wave.
I see them round the front way. Yeah.
And I know, and I know I don't want to stay.
Make me cry...

I see... Oh I don't know why there's something else.
I wanna drum it all away...
Oh, I said, "I don't, I don't know whether I was the boxer or the bag."

Ah yeah, can you see them out on the porch? Yeah, but they don't wave.
But I see them round the front way. Yeah.
And I know, and I know. I don't wanna stay at all.
I don't wanna stay. Yeah.
I don't wanna stay. [x2]
I don't... Don't wanna, oh... Yeah. Ooh... Ohh...

GOOD DAY EVERYBODY...ALWAYS BRINGING YOU THE BEST NEW ROCK MUSIC VIDEOS AVAILABLE TO YOU, RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW ON YOUR FAVORITE GAME SITE, GAME DESIRE.....

THIS SONG FROM ALABAMA SHAKES IS CALLED "I AIN'T THE SAME" AND IS A SONG I LOVE AND SO WILL YOU........

Song Facts

The band originated when lead singer/guitarist Brittany Howard and bassist Zac Cockrell, both attending East Limestone High School in Athens, began meeting after school to write songs. The two played prog rock and other genres but soon found a calling playing roots rock. They approached drummer Steve Johnson, who was working at the local music store, to join the band and the trio soon went to a studio in Decatur, Alabama, to record some of the songs they were writing. Guitarist Heath Fogg joined the band after hearing the demo.[2] Though they had been working on original material, they worked up cover songs by Led Zeppelin, James Brown, Otis Redding, AC/DC and others to fill a "one show only" 45 minute set, under the name The Shakes. The band later added Alabama to their name to differentiate themselves from other bands called the Shakes.[3][4]
Alabama Shakes released the four-song EP Alabama Shakes in September 2011, gained media attention (including by NPR), and earned them an invitation to play at CMJ.[5] The successful show CMJ in October 2011 caught the attention of Jon Pareles of The New York Times, who praised Howard's singing (comparing her to Janis Joplin) and the band's energy and musicianship.[6] In late 2011 the band's song "You Ain't Alone" was used in a Zales jewelry ad and Alabama Shakes made MTV's list of 11 Artists To Watch In 2012.[7][8] In the span of less than a year the band went from virtual obscurity to playing venues such as the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. and the Troubadour and Music Box Theater in Los Angeles.[9]
In November 2011 the band was signed by Rough Trade Records in the United Kingdom and ATO Records in the United States. In February 2012, the band was nominated for a mtvU Woodie for "best live performance".[10] Recently, Jack White tapped them to launch a series of singles for Third Man Records.[11]
The band's first full length album, Boys & Girls, was made available to be streamed live in its entirety on April 1, 2012.[12] In June 2012, the band played a closing set for the first night of the 2012 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.

Singer Brittany Howard told NME: "I used to be a little girl and I was free and naïve and innocent and now I'm older and things will never look the same as they used to."

She added: "I played drums a lot during that song, I wrote it almost out of my register completely, but it had to be sung that way."

Well, I've been going through the motions
Wonder if anyone can see
That I been looking for something
Have you been looking for me

I ain't the same no more
In fact I have changed from before
No, you ain't gonna find me
Oh no, cause I'm not who I used to be

Well, I used to be a little girl
Just a smiling, feeling free
I wasn't worried bout nobody
Nobody worried bout me

But, I ain't the same no more
You'll find I have changed from before
No, you ain't gonna find me
Cause I ain't who I used to be

I said I'd never grow old
I can't remember how that used to be
I find myself without the power
I find myself without the glory

Listen! I ain't the same no more
You'll find I have changed from before
You ain't gonna find me
Oh no, cause I'm not who I used to be
Oh, no, no, I ain't who I used to be
Oh, no, no, I ain't who I used to be
Oh, no...
