Ordering via the official website, you'll receive a guitar plectrum in a small brown envelope, a sticker with Never mentioned on it, a card with a code for a download of a free live song from livemetallica.com and a note. The soundtrack includes 15 songs recorded live in Edmonton and Vancouver in August of 2012 while the band were filming the performance footage in the movie. Referred to as "Through the Never Soundtrack" on Metallica.com.

On November 30th, 2012, Metallica launched their own label, Blackened Recordings and took ownership of all of their master recordings from the Warner Music Group.
