Imagine Dragons is a four-piece rock band based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that formed in 2008.[1] The group's name is an anagram, though the original word(s) for which are unknown except to the members of the band. [2]
After winning several 'battle of the bands' competitions, the band entered the studio for the first time in 2009.[3][4][5] They released two EPs titled Imagine Dragons EP[6] and Hell and Silence EP[7] in 2010, both recorded at Battle Born Studios and another EP, It's Time was made before they signed a record deal.
"It's Time" is a song by American alternative rock band Imagine Dragons, from the band's major label debut EP Continued Silence as well as their major label debut album Night Visions. The song has reached number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it their first Top 40 single, as well as number four on both the Alternative Songs chart and Rock Songs chart. It is the band's most commercially successful song to date and was certified Gold by the RIAA in the fall of 2012. It was also nominated for Best Rock Video at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.[1]
On July 16, 2012, the band performed "It's Time" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.[2][3] They also performed the song live on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on September 4, 2012 and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on October 29, 2012. The song was also featured in the trailer for the forthcoming feature film The Perks of Being a Wallflower.[4]
