REVIEW 4 THE CASTERS AND CLAWS SERIES

I have just completed another series of shifter audiobooks. These books are THE CASTER AND CLAWS SERIES. It is about witches, witch hunters, and werewolves. The Salem police are tipped off by one of the witch hunter's own son told the police about the plan his father and some others had to kill "witches". The boy did not want to be part of murder, but his father was going to try to make him.
It was convent that the local police was led by a wolf shifter, so he had no problem believing witches existed, being paranormal himself. The police did a raid on the meeting place of the witch hunters, and found the plan of which people they planned to kill and in what order. The first 4 people, "witches" dependents of the first witches killed in the original Salem witch T hunts. The Sharif got he local alpha and, the alpha and enforcer of the neighboring pack to help protect the 4 women. Each would protect one of the women in separate places until the witch hunters were captured, or killed. The idea was if they were going after witches, it would not be long till they started hunting shifters. The Salem police and both packs were hunting down the witch hunters. it took some time to lay it all to rest. The witches were 2 sets of twins born to a set of twins. The parents of the girls were all out of the country, so not in need of protection at the time. Each of the witches were very different personalities, but some of them had good sense of humors others did not. Kind of sucked for the wolf protectors that each of them were assigned to protect the witches that turned out to be their fated mates. Some of them took it well that they found their mates, some did not want to believe it, but the mating call is too strong to resist.
The police figured out the hunters had some way of knowing when the witches used their magic and could track them by it. They told the witches not to do any magic, but some did not listen. These stories did not have as much gore as some I have read, and there was more humor in these books. This series was quite enjoyable, I plan to listen to them again soon. In the end, the witch hunters were all gathered and arrested, well the ones that did not die in the fights when they tried to kill the witches. In the end, the witches and their protectors were indeed mated, and all were happy. This is a excellent series of books for people who like shifter books. i give the series 5 stars.

REVIEW 3

I just finished another romance book:Highland Captive. I find i have a bit of a weakness for the romance books set in Scotland, and this one is not a difference. It is about a girl and her brother captured for ransom by the brother of a highland lord. For the first week they had no clue, one of the boys they had captured was a girl dressed in boys clothes. When the Master of the estate returned home, he was furious with his brother. First because he did not approve of the action. Second because the boy had been neglected and he had wounds. He immediately got them out of the dungeon, and other than the guards, he treated them as guests while word was sent to their father that they had his children.
The girl tried to escape when it was discovered she was a girl and one of the servants tried to attack her. She nearly made it, but she was caught climbing down the side of the castle. It was then that the lord found out she was a girl, and fell in love with her. He was not the type to rape a woman, but he wanted her badly. He also wanted her big white horse that was captured with her and her brother. The horse was not inclined to let anyone but her ride it, as both her brother and her captor found out. He decided he would make her a deal. If she wanted to keep her horse, she and to come to his bed willingly, or he would not touch her and he would keep the horse. Fact is neither of them nor her brother wanted her to marry the guy she was pledged to, so her captor and her brother plated for a way to keep the wedding from happening. The guy she was pledged to had serious mental problems. I am not going to tell you everything he did, but when he died, EVERYONE was happy to see him be gone.
The poor girl did not have a great time of her life for a couple of years, what with the guy that was supposed to marry her trying to kill her, and beating her. And him coming back to attack her when she was pregnant with the highlander's child( the highlander married her) when he found out she was pregnant, but he planned to do that before he even knew. This book is well written, and entertaining. It is a little over 10 hours long and is not at all boring. I wonder if the same writer will write any more books in this style. They had a strong baby boy, who was not hurt at all, even though the baby's mother had ridden a horse back when she was past due to deliver. Trying to protect the pregnant girl, her horse tore up the face of the guy she was promised to when he attacked her brother-in-law and her.
If you like a mix of action and love, this book is a good one to read OR IN MY CASE listen to it on audio. Lol at the risk of an obvious plug for a company I am not connected to other than I use the service. Audible is where I get most of my audiobooks, and if you like audiobooks you may want to check it out, they have a wide verity of books.

SO TIRED OF BEING JERKED AROUND

Got a call from my cardiologists' office today. After him telling me on the day I got the tee that I was not going to have the valve transplant YET. The girl from his office that called me said he was going to refer me to the cardio surgeon. He was not there for e to ask him why, and I lost it. Took me a half hr to stop crying, because I had just been told this morning I could schedule for cataract surgery. I left a message for my cardiologist himself to call me back, I want to ask him directly why after telling me I did not need it now why he is setting me up with the sermon. AT TIS VERY MOMENT, I feel like he lied to me the day of the tee. I had myself braced for the valve replacement. When he said it did not need done right away, I was so happy. Now just a couple of weeks later I feel like I was dropped out of a plane with not shoot onto rocks. Anyone who knows me, knows I am not the most emotionally stable person in the world. Being jerked around like this makes it really hard to stay on the level emotionally.
Some of my family says it may just be for a second opinion to make sure his call on waiting was right, BUT why not say that when they called to tell me he was doing the refusal? If that is what it is, I get wanting to have a second opinion, but say it if that is what it is. Do not leave me twisting in everything my mind can come up with.

REVIEW 2

As I mentioned a little while ago, I have gotten into audiobooks. As of late, I have been listening to many shifter books. The most well known of these shifters are wolf shifters aka werewolves, but some of these "romance"books based on shifters have different kinds. They all seem to have a few things in common: great strength, sensitive smell, the ability to see in the dark, and because there would probably not be any "romance shifter books" if not for the ability to recognize their "mate" on site.
This most recent series is labeled in the category: Alpha Claimed. n There are 4 books in this series. Some have over lapping characters, and one does not. They are all well written books, that have a lot of violence, and even more sex ion them, so i would not recommend these books for children. The first one was about 2 werewolves and their mate. The second one was about a tiger and his mate, the third one was about a lion and his mate, but the one that resonated with me most was the 4th book in the series CHOSEN BY THE BEAR by Milly Taiden. I found this one to be less violent than the others. I actually saw much of myself in the lead female. She was a writer, who went away to the mountains to try to clear a case of writer's block. It was there that she met a small girl crying in the woods. She tried to help the girl find her parents, and just a short ways to where the girl lived, a huge bear appeared and he was not happy. As the bear ran at them, the writer pushed the little girl behind him, and a bigger bear tackled him. The 2 bears fought till the little girl screamed for them to stop. She yelled "Daddy stop, stop fighting". To the shock of the writer, the smaller bear changed into a naked man (animals do not wear clothes in the wild). Then the bigger bear changed into a big good-looking mountain man ( also nude). The smaller bear demanded to have his daughter. He thought the woman was kidnapping her. We find out much later in the book that thread been an older sister that was kidnapped, tortured and killed. That is why the father was so protective of his younger daughter. The larger bear turned out to not only be the writer's landlord but also the alpha of a bear clan, and a mentor for many of the clan's teens. They do the usual amount of love making you would normally find in a romance book. The little girl keeps hanging round the writer. The writer finds out the little girl is living in very poor, unsanitary, malnourished conditions. When the alpha ( her mate) comes to her house for a date, his mate has given the little girl a bath and washed her clothes. She was furious and told her mate he had to help them, she would call child protective services. They got the little girl some newish clothes, and he took her home. The little girl did not want to go. They were living in a cave. After a lot of drama and talking, they got through to the father. The little girl in her bear form killed a woman that was trying to kill the alpha's mate because the woman was obsessed with the alpha. There was a mud slide from too much rain, and the house slid down the hill toward the river. The alpha , the little girl's dad, and the teens from the alphas club got the alphas mate and the little girl to safety just in time. It was after that the father started coming to his senses. The mud slide had washed away nearly the whole little town. The little girl's daddy moved his family back to town after the houses were rebuilt. The alpha and his mate lived happily ever after.
They were all good books, but if you can only see or listen to 1 this year, I recommend CHOSEN BY THE BEAR.

EMOTIONAL RIVER

Ever notice how emotions, especially negative ones, can start out like a small drip and then grow into a trickle when it comes into touch with another. The emotion passes to the next person and then grows bigger. The two emotions roll together, widening the emotional stream and flows on to more people. Each contact, each transference of the emotions, makes the bad feeling keep flowing. If no one builds a dam to stop it, the bade emotion can take over everyone in its path. Like with a flash flood, with bad emotions people can get wet, only with the emotional river the water comes from tears shed from hurt feelings. The things washed away by the emotional flood can be rebuilt if the foundation was strong.
