Myles Richard Kennedy (born Myles Richard Bass; November 27, 1969) is an American musician and singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Alter Bridge, and as the lead vocalist in Slash's current solo project. A former guitar instructor from Spokane, Washington, Kennedy is known for his ability as both a guitarist and a vocalist, possessing a tenor vocal range that spans four octaves.[1] He has worked as a session musician and songwriter, making both studio and live appearances with several artists over the years and having been involved with several projects throughout his career. Most notably, Kennedy rehearsed and collaborated with former members of Led Zeppelin for an unreleased project featuring Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham in 2008.[2] More recently, he has become known for his several collaborations with Slash, starting with his vocal contributions to two songs on Slash's self-titled debut solo album, which featured many other guest musicians.

Kennedy was raised in Spokane, Washington, where he attended Spokane Falls Community College to study music theory. He began his music career in 1990 as the lead guitarist of the instrumental jazz ensemble Cosmic Dust, with which he released one studio album. His second band, Citizen Swing, released two studio albums before disbanding in 1995. He then founded and became the lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the Spokane-based rock band The Mayfield Four in 1996, releasing two studio albums with the band, Fallout (1998) and Second Skin (2001). While he was in the band, he made a cameo appearance in Rock Star, a film starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston.[3] The Mayfield Four disbanded a year later in 2002. After declining an offer to audition as the lead vocalist of Velvet Revolver, he was asked to join Alter Bridge by then-former members of Creed. He has released three studio albums with Alter Bridge: One Day Remains (2004), Blackbird (2007), and AB III (2010), which debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200.[4] Kennedy has been touring since 2010, switching between tours with his two main projects, Alter Bridge and Slash. He also has a solo album awaiting completion.[5] He also appears on Slash's second solo album, Apocalyptic Love, as the sole lead singer as a member of the band "Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators".[6]

Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong[2] (pron.: /ˈdaɪdoʊ/; born 25 December 1971), known as Dido, is an English singer-songwriter. Dido attained international success with her debut album No Angel (1999). The album sold over 21 million copies worldwide,[3] and won several awards; including the MTV Europe Music Award for Best New Act, two NRJ Awards for Best New Act and Best Album, and two Brit Awards for Best British Female and Best Album. Her next album Life for Rent (2003), continued her success with the hit singles "White Flag" and "Life for Rent".

"Thank You" is a song by British singer and songwriter Dido. The song was released on her debut studio album, No Angel (1999). The song made its first appearance in 1998, on the soundtrack of Sliding Doors, although it was not released as a single until late 2000. It later featured on Dido's debut album, No Angel, becoming the album's biggest hit. The song samples the "Theme from the Planets" drum break. The song's first verse is famously sampled in the song "Stan" by Eminem.[1]

Dido wrote this as a tribute to her boyfriend Bob Page. They got engaged in 2001, but broke up a year later. Dido wrote "White Flag" about their split.

Eminem did not ask permission to use this on "Stan" until after the song was produced. Dido loved it agreed to let him use it.

This won "Song Of The Year" at the 2002 ASCAP awards, honoring it as the most successful song of the previous year. ASCAP represents songwriters and makes sure their members get paid when their songs are performed. The award indicates that this song was constantly played on the radio and used in other media where performance rights had to be paid.

‘Heaven Nor Hell’ is a rock song that tells a story about a guy who one day sold his soul to the devil but he actually ended up stealing it back and therefore was in debt to the devil. Since he did not believe in heaven nor hell, because he has seen the devil become an angel and otherwise, he doesn’t really need any of them because he had found peace within himself. He doesn’t need any direction to where he is going. So the song is very much about a guy who is struggling with his demons and has angels on his shoulders.

Phoenix is an alternative rock band from Versailles, France,[2] consisting of Thomas Mars, Deck d'Arcy, Christian Mazzalai and Laurent Brancowitz.[3]

In early 2009, it was announced that the band was returning with a new album titled Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which was released on May 25, 2009.[6] The album was recorded in Paris, and was co-produced and mixed by Philippe Zdar of Cassius.[7] The track "1901", a tribute to early Paris, was released on February 23, 2009, as a free download prior to the release of the first single, and aired for the first time on Australian radio station Triple J.

"1901" was also featured during Super Bowl XLV in a Packers montage.

This is the second track on French rock band Phoenix's fourth studio album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. It was released as a free download on February 23, 2009 when Phoenix's redesigned official website was launched.

Phoenix singer Thomas Mars told the Washington DC free newspaper Express: "Anthems are good. '1901' really worked because we wrote almost all the song in 10 minutes, but it took us almost a year to finish it. We had the idea of the verse, and the chorus, the bridge, the rhythm, all the arrangements and everything, and then it was really hard to finish. So, I think you can feel there's something more sophisticated, maybe a production that's maybe new to us."

This featured prominently in TV commercials for the 2010 Cadillac SRX.

Frank Turner (born 28 December 1981) is an English[1] folk/punk singer-songwriter from Meonstoke, Hampshire. Initially the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead, Turner embarked upon a primarily acoustic-based solo career following the band's split in 2005. To date, Turner has released four solo albums, two rarities compilation albums and four EPs. Turner began recording for his new album England Keep My Bones, in January 2011. It was released on 6 June 2011 in the UK, and 7 June 2011 worldwide. Turner's fifth album, Tape Deck Heart is due for release on 22 April 2013.

Turner recorded his fifth studio album in Burbank, California, in October 2012.
