Muse are an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, which formed in 1994. The band consists of school friends Matthew Bellamy (lead vocals, lead guitar, piano, keyboards, keytar), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass, vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar, harmonica) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion, synthesisers, sampling).

Since the release of their 2006 album Black Holes and Revelations, keyboardist and percussionist Morgan Nicholls has performed live with the band. Muse are known for their energetic and extravagant live performances[2][3] and their fusion of many music genres, including space rock, progressive rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, classical music and electronica.[4]

Muse have released six studio albums: Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes and Revelations (2006), The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012). They have also issued three live albums, Hullabaloo Soundtrack (2002), which is also a compilation of B-sides, Absolution Tour (2005), and HAARP (2008), which documents the band's performances at Wembley Stadium in 2007.[5]

Black Holes and Revelations earned the band a Mercury Prize nomination and a third place finish in the NME Albums of the Year list for 2006.[6] Muse have also won a collection of music awards throughout their history, including five MTV Europe Music Awards, six Q Awards, eight NME Awards, two Brit Awards—winning "Best British Live Act" twice, an MTV Video Music Award, four Kerrang! Awards and an American Music Award. They were also nominated for five Grammy Awards,[7] of which they won Best Rock Album, for their fifth studio album The Resistance (2009).[8] Muse have sold over 15 million albums worldwide.[9]

Fun (stylized as fun.) is an American indie pop band based in New York City that was formed by Nate Ruess, formerly of The Format. The Virginmarys are a three-piece rock band from the North of England. The band formed in 2006 and will release their debut album King of Conflict on Wind Up Records in February 2013.[1][2]

The band formed in Macclesfield in 2006, following the demise of a previous band, For Tomorrows. The band spent much of their early years touring extensively - they first played the Download festival in 2010, and have toured as support act to Slash, Terrorvision, Skunk Anansie, Eagles of Death Metal, The View, Ash, Feeder and We are scientists, as well as playing their own headline gigs.[3] The band released a series of self-financed E.P.'s during this period, and recorded their first mini-album in 2010. Cast The First Stone was produced by Toby Jepson and mixed by Mike Fraser.[4][5]

In late 2011 the band,[6] started work on their debut full-length album, again with Toby Jepson as producer (Chris Sheldon mixed the album), and continued to tour. They wanted the freedom to make their own album and in 2012 they announced record deals with both Double Cross / Cooking Vinyl (in Europe), Wind Up Records (United States) and Hydrant Music (Japan). The debut album, titled King of Conflict was released on 4th February 2013.

RDGLDGRN (pronounced Red Gold Green) is an American band based out of Washington, DC that was formed in 2011. The band recorded their debut album at Sound City Studios in 2012 with producer Kevin Augunas and engineer Clif Norrell. They have worked with a wide range of notable musicians, including Dave Grohl and Pharrell Williams. Notable upcoming events include SXSW[1], the DC101 Chili Cook-Off[2], along with Vans Warped Tour 2013[3].

In the fall of 2011, RDGLDGRN recorded their breakout song "I Love Lamp" and uploaded their self-produced and directed music video to YouTube, where it reached over 100,000 hits within days. In the spring of 2012, RDGLDGRN recorded their debut album at Sound City Studios with Kevin Augunas (The Lumineers, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes), producer and founder of Fairfax Recordings. The group asked fellow Northern Virginia native Dave Grohl, who was filming his Sound City documentary, to drum on "I Love Lamp." Grohl agreed and played drums for the entire record, with the exception of "Million Fans," which features a sampled breakbeat.[4] An additional Virginia native became involved when Pharrell Williams co-wrote and co-produced "Doing the Most." [5][6]

In June 2012, the demo recording of "I Love Lamp" was used as the theme song for the world record Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare at the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles, California.[7][8] In January 2013, British magazine NME released "Million Fans."[9] Days later, Rolling Stone released "I Love Lamp" with Dave Grohl on drums.[10] The Red Gold Green EP was debuted February 12, 2013 and reached the top 100 on the American iTunes album chart.[11]
